Growing Up With Notes

I think one of the reasons I love writing cards and jotting notes on notepads is mainly due to my mother.  Growing up we often communicated in this way as both our schedules sometimes made face to face interaction limited.  Sometimes there was a note on the pad by the phone (always accompanied by one of mom's doodles!), occasionally there was a note in my lunch box (just because), and when I moved to a different state, mom often wrote letters on a pretty card or very random stationery.
This is a sample that I found recently.  Even though this message could have been communicated to me via a text, Mum took the time to make this simple note special.  This is far more heartwarming than something on my phone screen would have been!
